Workshops Within "Active Citizenship for Migrants" Project a cycle of workshops for Migrants in each partner's country has been organized.The idea of those is to familiarize and activate, as well as to build awareness among Migrants about active participation in civic, political, cultural and social life in Europe. Migrants are the group threatened by social exclusion and thanks to our workshops we would like to promote intercultural dialogue between people from different social and ethnic groups in Europe, so as to integrate them and spread the spirit of mutual respect and understanding. Thanks to the workshops we were / are going to develop social sensitiveness for Migrants' problems in EU - thanks to our educational programme we could reach different environments and develop an idea of Active Citizenship in Europe. The workshops took place in Poland, France and Cyprus and were in relevance to needs diagnosed within previous meetings, as well as surveys done. As for the needs, the Partners have researched that on the national level the following were required: Poland: vocational training and intercultural competences Cyprus: IT skills France: language skills The partners worked with pilot groups of migrants consisting of 8-12 people actively taking part in all assignments. The cooperation run smoothly, as pilot groups were presenting active attitude revealing in ideas sharing, joint work, cooperation on definitions and activities, as well as practices exchange. There has been a significant step forward done, as: • in Poland INTER International Education & Trainings completed 4 workshops (2 concerning vocational skills and 2 concerning intercultural dialogue) • on Cyprus The Heritage Private School completed 2 workshops (on IT skills) • in France CFPPA completed a workshop an worked out special Welcoming Booklet, familiarizing migrants with basic words and expressions |
